About this center
The London Lloyd’s Centre is housed in The Lloyd’s of London building, a unique landmark in the City of London designed by Sir Richard Rogers. As well as having Lloyd’s, a world famous insurance institution, as a neighbour, the area is home to other global insurance brokers, the Bank of England, international financial institutions and prestigious law firms. Based on the fourth floor, some of the rooms of the centre overlook the famous Underwriting Room. This room contains the historic Lutine bell which was salvaged from the wrecked British ship Lutine and rung in Lloyd’s of London before announcements of ships overdue or lost at sea. As well as enjoying natural light from the large windows of the building, some offices back on to the 60-metre-high atrium which rises above the Underwriting Room. The historical Leadenhall Market with its interesting shops and fashionable wine bars and cafes is a short walk away and popular with office workers for lunch breaks.
